Rev. Roy D. Crum
A native of Gloster, MS and resident of Baton Rouge, Rev. Roy D. Crum died in Baton Rouge at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the age of 83. He was a retired Church of the Nazarene minister having pastored churches in Gloster, MS; Jonesboro, LA; Natchez, MS; and Denham Springs, LA. He had also worked with Boilermakers Local Union Number 582 and Olsteen's Security Company. Rev. Crum proudly served his country as a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean War.
Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Sunday, April 13, 2014; from 5 pm until 8 pm. Religious services will be held at Baton Rouge First Church of the Nazarene, 9955 Old Hammond Hwy, on Monday, April 14, at noon conducted by Pastor William Bonee. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mary D. Crum; daughter, Carolyn Clements and husband Rev. Kevin Clements; two sons, Mike Crum and wife Cathy and Rev. James Crum and wife Tara; brother, Homer Crum and wife Jo Ann; six grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jordan Crum, Brandon and Ryan Clements and Ashleigh and Hannah Crum; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence McAllister Crum; four sisters and three brothers.
Rev. Crum was a member of Baton Rouge First Church of the Nazarene, a graduate of Gloster High School and had attended Trevecca Nazarene College.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorial donations to the Baton Rouge First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
