Roy Hale

Services for Mr. Roy Hale will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Chaplain Douglas Wigginton and Rev. Ray Ford officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ruby.

Mr. Roy Hale, 95, of Pineville died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 in the V.A. Medical Center, Pineville.

Mr. Hale was born January 25, 1907 in Ruby, Louisiana and was the owner of The Unique Barber Shop where he barbered in Alexandria and Pineville for more than 60 years. This was interrupted only by WWII during which he was a barber for the U.S. Navy. He was a deacon, choir member and directed music in the senior adult department of the Pineville First Baptist Church which he joined in 1926. Mr. Hale was a longtime participant at Friendship House.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Palmer Baker Hale brothers, Leston Hale, Randal Hale, and Hardie Hale sisters, Carrie Bolen and Lolette Morgan.

Survivors include his daughters, Marilyn H. Jeansonne of Pineville, Freida H. Hollis of Lecompte grandchildren, Denise Daly, Vicki Younger, and Lisa Hollis great-grandchildren, Haylee McBride and Alexis Younger.

Friends may call at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
