Roy Slocum

VILLE PLATTE, La. -- Roy Slocum, 71, of Ville Platte, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at his residence. He was a retired farmer and logger.

He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Katherine Manuel of Walnut Grove, Mo., Mrs. John E. Ray Jr. of Cheneyville, Mrs. Bill Solley of Bossier City, Mrs. Margaret Strange and Mrs. Calvin Cole, both of Albany, Ore.; a brother, Maurice Slocum of Orange, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. B.S. Dossman Jr. of St. Landry; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lone Pine Baptist Church here. Burial will be in Griffith Hill Cemetery under direction of Ardoin, Ville Platte.
