ROY M. McCARTY
Funeral services for Roy M. McCarty, 72, Route 1, Stringer, were held Thursday, 2 p.m. from Memory Chapel, Bay Springs, with burial in New Home Cemetery.
The Revs. Rufe Clark and Ben Evans officiated.
McCarty was born in Monroe, La.; a retired farmer and son of the late Monroe and Annie James McCarty. He was a veteran of World War II.
He died Wednesday in the Jasper General Hospital.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ester Lou Wood, Stringer; three sons, Truitt McCarty, James M. McCarty, Daniel [sic Dariel] McCarty, all of Stringer; five brothers, Ruben McCarty, Orange McCarty, Dewie McCarty, all of Laurel; Elmond McCarty, Bay Springs; Leonard McCarty, Collins; four sisters, Mrs. Rosie McNeil, Arlington, Tex.; Mrs. Lula Smith, Providence, R.I.; Mrs. Bertha High, Collins; Mrs. Irene Rogers, Stringer and Mrs. Becky Roberson, of Pasadena, Calif.
