Rev. R. Melvin Strange

Services for Rev. R. Melvin Strange were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 1993 from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Bobby Cruse and Rev. Boyd Tannehill officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery west of Columbia.

Strange, 58, of Columbia was born September 6, 1935 in Caldwell Parish and died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 1993 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.

He was a Baptist minister and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a retired engineering aid with the La. Dept. of Highways.

Survivors include his wife: Pearl Guice Strange of Columbia, his mother: Veteree Mason Strange of Columbia, his son: Raymond Eady, Jr. of Columbia, his daughters: Janice Strange, Shirley Strange and Debbie Eady all of Dallas, Virginia Strange of Columbia and Rebecca Graham of Hebert, his brother: James Strange of Columbia, his sisters: Joyce Stevens of Columbia and Lorene Hatten of Chatham, six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Roy Dale Kenworthy, Greg Guillot, Jack Clarke, Rushel Calhoun, Waylon May, George McClanahan, Joe Strange, Jr. and Gary Watts.
