Funeral services for Roy Nolan Stapp Sr. 64, of Winnsboro, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Crosby and the Rev. Daniel Corkery officiating.
A lifelong resident of Franklin Parish, he was a retired school principal and inspector with the Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, V.F.W. and Winnsboro Lodge No 246 F&AM. He was a veteran of World War II. He died on Nov. 8, 1987, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include two daughters, Merle S. Davis and Ethel Williams, both of Winnsboro; four sons, Ardwayne Stapp, Mangham, Roy N. Stapp Jr., Charlotte, N.C., John S. Stapp and Paul F. Stapp, both of Winnsboro; three sisters, Clara S. Wiggins, Murchison, Texas, Mary M. Johnson, Bunkie, Ruby Nell Darby, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Paul E. Stapp, Friendswood, Texas and Charles Ray McKaskle, Hammond; five step-brothers, W.H. McKaskle, Richardson, Texas, Frank McKaskle, Wisner, Nolan McKaskle, Baton Rouge, Olan McKaskle, Kailua, Hawaii, and George McKaskle, Manhattan, Kans.; three granddaughters and four grandsons.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
