Scott

Roy Scott of New Caney died Saturday morning at his home. He was 83.

Arrangements are pending with Sorrells-Peters Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 7, 1902 in Hunt County to Dan and Willie Duncan Scott. The former resident of Greenville married Grace Moore. Mr. Scott, a retired maintenance employee of Brown-Root Construction Co., was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, of New Caney; four sons, Bobby L. Scott of Porter, Charles D. Scott of New Caney, G.T. Scott of Hammond, La., and Billy Pat Scott of Ponca City, Okla.; six daughters, Jackie Kennedy of Dallas, Gail Farrell of Amarillo, June Summitt of San Antonio, Ruth Young of Austin, Tilley Morrow of Elgin and Rebecca Hair of Lubbock; three brothers, Joe D. Scott of Greenville; B.W. Scott of Wolfe City and Andrew W. Scott Sr. of Kermit; five sisters, Mrs. Burt Perrin of Dallas, Mrs. Brown Cherry of Garland, Mrs. Bonnie Sponseller of Dallas, Gladys Trotter of Greenville and Mrs. Earl W. Jones Sr. of San Antonio; 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Roy Scott, 83, of New Caney are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tidwell Cemetery. He died Saturday morning at his home.

Sorrells-Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
