Roy Markley
NORTH LITTLE ROCK -- Roy T. Markley, 77, of White Hall, died February 14, 1993, at Fort Roots Veterans Administration Hospital at North Little Rock.
Born June 30, 1915, at Cuba, Missouri, he was a son of the late Deed and Annie Carry Markley.
A retired United States Army sergeant, he was reared and received his early education near Cuba and Independence, Missouri. He retired from the army as a master sergeant after 21 years of service. He fought in World War II and the Korean War and retired from Fort Knox, Kentucky.
After retiring from the army, he and his wife, Helen Hines of Pine Bluff, moved to Jefferson County, where he worked for 10 years at the Pine Bluff Arsenal.
A hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Rod and Gun Club.
Other survivors include two daughters, Pamela Fox of El Dorado and Camela Wilson of Monticello; two brothers, Leonard Markley of Independence and Mervin Markley of Decatur, Alabama; a sister, Margaret Willoughby of Independence; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in National Cemetery at Little Rock by Ralph Robinson & Son Mortuary.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
