Roy Wilson Willie

Roy Wilson Willie, 89, of Orange, Texas, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft, pastor of North Orange Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Mr. Willie was born on March 12, 1916 in Blewett, Louisiana. He was the son of Louis Robert Willie and Bertha Willie Whittaker. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army and also worked for DuPont Sabine River Works as an operator for 34 years.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Hester) Willie in 2000 and his sister, Louis Mae Wiltshire. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law; Louis and Patsy Willie of Orange, Marvin and Janet Willie of Mountain Home, Texas , Elton and Lou Ellen Willie of Orange, Curtis and Brenda Willie of Houston, Larry and Jackie Willie of Paducah, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, W.E. Whittaker, Jr. and Johnny Whittaker both of Buna. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
