Mrs. Ruby Rendel, 79, Resident of Mexico, Dies in Indianapolis
PERU -- Mrs. Ruby A. Rendel, 79, of Mexico, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis following an illness of 13 years.
Born in Albion, Ind., May 19, 1881, she was the daughter of James A. and Rosalpha (Hyde) Lash. Her marriage in 1905 was to Dr. Charles F. Rendel and he died in 1948.
She had lived in the Mexico community fifty-five years, moving there from Albion. She was a member of the Mexico Methodist church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Harold E. Rendel, of Mexico and James Walter Rendel, of Gary; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one brother, Cullen Lash, of Redland, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mexico Methodist Church with Rev. James Rhine officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery, Mexico.
Friends may call at the McCain funeral home, Indiana 16 and U.S. 31, after 2 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to services.
