FAIRHOPE - Ruby Christie Austin

Ruby Christie Austin, a native of Indianapolis and a former longtime resident of Theodore, died at her residence in Fairhope on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. She was 83.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Castamore of Fairhope, Diane Cox of Dothan and Pat Lee of Ranburne, Ala.; a brother, Robert Christie of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be at Serenity Funeral Home on Old Pascagoula Road in Theodore on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the noon service. Burial will take place in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Ruby Christie Austin

Ruby Christie Austin, a native of Indianapolis and a longtime resident of Theodore, died at her residence in Fairhope on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. She was 83.

Visitation was 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Serenity Funeral Home in Theodore. Funeral services followed at 12 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment was in the Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Austin; her parents, Claude and Ethel Christie; two sisters, Pauline Sparks and Vivian Christie; and a granddaughter, Tracey Renee Lee.

She is survived by three daughters, Diane (Leon) Cox of Dothan, Sandra (Don) Castamore of Fairhope, Pat (Eddie) Lee of Ranburne; a brother, Robert Christie, of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
