STECKER, EVELYN P. -- Passed away in a Lakeport hospital, September 11, 1996 after a short illness. She had just turned 80 on September 1. Born in Louisiana, she had lived in and loved northern California for over 50 years, most recently in Lucerne overlooking beautiful Clearlake, where she moved to be near her daughter Giovanna Westfall-Lanfear (“Dickie”) and her husband Raymond Lanfear. She was the adored wife of the late Frederick C. Stecker. Together they settled in Bodega on picturesque Deerhaven Ranch where they lived for over 20 years. She was devoted to her only child and to her two grandchildren, Amy Westfall-Johnson, now of Austin, TX and William Westfall, Jr. of Sebastopol. Beloved by all who met her, she was lovingly known as “Gram” to many of her younger friends and “Mom” by a chosen few.

She was the oldest of four children, the late Harold Prince and Jerry “J. T.” Prince and is survived and will be sadly missed by her brother Carrol Prince and his wife Virginia of Modesto. She was truly loved by numerous nieces and nephews and will be especially missed by her good buddy and loving friend and son-in-law, Raymond Lanfear and by his daughter Debbie, her husband John Janoski and by Ray's grandchildren Nicole Lanfear and Jennifer Janoski and by Ray's son Kevin Lanfear and by all who knew her, loved her and laughed with her.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Evelyn's life on Saturday, September 28 at 1:00 PM at the CHAPEL OF THE LAKES, 1625 High St., Lakeport 95453.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn's name to Sutter Lakeside Hospital, Pulmonary Fund, 5176 Hill Road East, Lakeport, CA 95453 or to your favorite charity.
