Ruby H. Cooley

Ruby H. Cooley, 89, of Laurel, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at Laurelwood Community Living Center in Laurel.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Fellowship Cemetery in Smith County. Rev. Mike West will officiate.

She was a homemaker and a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Jones County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Selby C. Cooley in 1997; daughter, Carolyn Ann Cooley; brother, Pleas Glaston Hester; and sister, Grace Rawls.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Cook and husband, Charles O. Cook of Laurel; grandson, Steven Price Cook and wife, Missy of Laurel; five great-grandchildren, Marlee Cook, Mason Cook, Julia Cook, Madison Smith, and Holly Smith; sister, Erlene Dubose of Collins; sister-in-law, Ethel B. Hester of Bay Springs; niece, Lynette Farrish; and four nephews, Charles Huddleston, Pleas Hester, Milton Cooley and Cliff Cooley.

Pallbearers will be Charles Cook, Price Cook, Mason Cook, Pleas Hester, Sonny Hester, and Cliff Cooley.

Visitation will be from 12 noon, Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, until service time at Memory Chapel of Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
