Ruby Kitchens Ferrara, 74 years old of Hammond, died Tuesday, October 23,
2007 in North Oaks Medical Center.
She was born on Friday, August 18, 1933
in Mississippi, daughter of the late Oswald Kitchens and the late Rubyzette
Bigner Kitchens Lucas.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Bonnie F. Shelton, Tammy
Smith; son, Frank W. Ferrara; 8 grandchildren, Jonathan King, Jolene King,
Bridgete Vicknair, Kendi Carrone, Chrystain Smith, Brittany Smith, Morghan
Brookens, Branden Brookens; 6 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Becky Powell,
Nell Roberts, Margie Morgan, Alice Egan, Linda Campbell; 3 brothers, Dennis
Kitchens, Grady Lucas and Billy Ray Lucas.
She is preceded in death by her
husband, Frank J. Ferrara and son, John N. Ferrara; 2 brothers, William
Kitchens, Jesse Lucas Sr.; 2 sisters, Henrietta Kelley, Helen Dugas.
Friends will be received Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 6:00 pm until
10:00 pm and on Friday, October 26, 2007 from 8:00 am until the religious
service begins at 10:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
Interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery in Independence.
