Rubye Lewis

Graveside services for Mrs. Rubye Lewis, 93, will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Dr. H.D. Smith, pastor of Western Hills Baptist Church, with Dr. Donald E. Lewis, retired Baptist minister, assisting.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2001, at Roseneath's Southside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lewis, a native of Jena, La. and a resident of Shreveport for most of her life, passed away Saturday, Janurday 13, 2001, in Shreveport. She was a retired switchboard operator, supervisor for LSU Medical center and a member of Western Hills Baptist Church and The Order Of The Eastern Star.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. Lewis; a grandson; two sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by two sons, J. Norman Lewis and wife Elizabeth, and Mickey Lewis and wife Dena, all of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Mike Lewis and wife Melinda, Sara LaFortune and husband Tom, Amy Sides and husband Jeffery, and Martha Lewis; four great-grandchildren, Leslie and Mandy Lewis, Samantha Austin, and Jacob LaFortune; three sisters-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Western Hills Baptist Church.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Doctors P. V. Blanchard and Eric Smith and to the two west nurses and staff at Willis Knighton North Hospital for their care and support.
