Geraldine Allen Padgett
July 26, 1920 - November 30, 2015

Ruth Geraldine Padgett, 95, of Midland, entered into the gates of Heaven on November 30, 2015.

Geraldine was born in Hominy, Oklahoma in Osage County on July 26, 1920 to Clarence L. Allen and Lottie Bell Allen.

Geraldine worked for Southwestern Bell for 33 years until her retirement. She had a record of perfect attendance while at Southwestern Bell. Geraldine went to work for Greenwood School District driving a school bus and retired from the district after 10 years. She impacted many children's lives and enjoyed being with children.

Geraldine was a founding member of over 50 years at Greenwood Baptist Church in Midland. She was a devout Christian and dedicated her life to serving the Lord.

Geraldine was active and served in numerous positions with The Community Workers of America. She also served numerous years as a poll judge during election campaigns. She always advocated the importance of voting and having your voice heard. Geraldine had been involved in many community organizations including the “Just Say No to Drugs” campaign in Greenwood. She was involved in the churches women's Bible study class and vacation Bible school.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her father Clarence L. Allen and mother Lottie Bell Allen; brothers, Clarence R. Allen, Bill R. Allen and O.D. Allen; sisters Amy Rheton and Ida Scott.

She is survived by her sister Lorraine Maroney; her loving sons Ross Padgett and Russ Padgett; daughters Uvonne Morgan, Jimmiell Dill, Jackie Haun; grandchildren Jerod Padgett, Jeremiah Padgett, Lauren Padgett, Jaime Smith, Kelli Betner, Heather Haun-Granado, James Cameron Haun, Eddie Morgan, Carrie Gilbert, Roger Morgan, Warren Dill, Brandon Dill, Julia Chisolm, Jacquelyn Dill, Jessica McDowell; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Greenwood Baptist Church of Midland followed by a private family burial service at Mary Neal Cemetery in Mary Neal, Texas at 3:00 p.m.

The family of Geraldine Padgett wishes to thank Odessa Regional Medical Center, Midland Memorial Hospital and staff, Hospice of Midland, loving friends Stephen A House, Connie Pecore, Vicki Lindsey, and Jan Tenney for their ongoing love and support.

Geraldine will be remembered for her strength, determination and work ethic and, most of all, for the love she had for her children and family.
