GLEASON, RUTH PHILLIPS

Retired from LSU and a resident of Lewisville, Texas, she died Thursday, June 3, 2004, in Lewisville. She was 79, born Aug. 1, 1924, in Many and was a former longtime resident of Baton Rouge.

Graveside service in Resthaven Gardens of Memory at 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2004, conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Jack Martin of Granbury, Texas, Anne and Ted Hyde of Highland Village, Texas, and Sandy and Joachim Koerner of Morganton, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Donna Gleason of Ocean, N.J., and Ben and Rita Gleason of Waleska, Ga.; a sister, Margaret Purswell of Cleveland, Texas, a brother, Francis Phillips of West Monroe; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her many loving friends at the independent senior living wing at Lewisville Estates, where she lived.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ray Gleason.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
