Sadie Railey

Funeral services for Sadie Railey, 70, of Joaquin, were held Sunday at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. J.L. (Dick) Sawyer officiated and burial followed in the Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. She died Thursday in Center.

Born March 27, 1928 in Panola, she was the daughter of W.W. and Vashti Spradley Davis. She married Lewis Railey on Feb. 22, 1947 and they celebrated 35 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and an infant son, James Clester Railey.

Survivors include his [sic her] son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol Railey, of Carthage; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gunter Holt, of Joaquin; sister, Amy Latham, of Houston; grandchildren and spouses, Denise and Rocky Curry, Larry and Wendy Holt, and Shelly and Roger Rutherford, all of Joaquin; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were David Grable, Jack Railey, Jerry Marcum, Randy Fyfee, Hugh Cleave Gunter and Johnny Gunter.
