Sadie McCall Smith

Services for Sadie McCall Smith, 90, of Lufkin, were held Saturday, March 17, 1990 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 15, 1899 in Burke and died March 14, 1990 in a local hospital. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Seven Star Rebekah Lodge No. 194 and of the Pythian Sisters. She was the daughter of pioneer citizens, Alonzo S. McCall and Candis Husband McCall. She married Merle O. Smith in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1955. Mrs. Smith lived most of her life in Lufkin with the exception of 14 years when she lived in Goliad where her husband was a postal employee.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Drue Ivy of Crossett, Arkansas; 18 nieces and nephews.
