MRS. SADIE FRANCIS

Peebles Curry Durden Mortuary announces the death of Sadie Sloop Francis, age 78, of Injunction Road, Swainsboro, on Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Laurens County Hospital in Laurens, S.C.

Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Swainsboro with the Rev. Benjy Varnell officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Shot Strange, Gary Mason, Denny Key, Jim Dekle, Wilder Smith, Dess Smith and Jack McLeod.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 421 S. Main St., Swainsboro, GA; or Gidenons International, P.O. Box 365, Swainsboro, GA.

Mrs. Francis was born in Salisbury, N.C., June 29, 1922. She attended Lenior Rhyne College . She was retired from the State of Georgia Probation Office as a probation aid. She was a member of the Swainsboro First United Methodist Church, member of the C.I. Hall Sunday School class, Wesleyan Circle and volunteer for the Sunshine Shop at Emanuel Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Francis of Swainsboro, Ga.; two sons, Bob Yarbrough, Smyrna, Ga., and Jim Yarbrough of Laurens, S.C.; two step daughters, Marleta London of Manassas, Va., and Lavinda Holcomb of Jay, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
