Sallie Mae Hodge

Sallie Mae Hodge, 85, of Laurel, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesda,y at Skyview Congregational Methodist Church in Jones County, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Kenneth Harrison and Bill Myers will officiate.

A homemaker, she was a member of Mill Creek Congregational Methodist Church in Jones County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Richard Hodge, in 1982, and one son, Jerry Ronald Hodge.

She is survived by three sons, Brent Hodge of Ellisville and Jack Richard Hodge and Robert Kent Hodge, both of Laurel; three daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Berendzen of Crandall, Texas, Eva and Tommy Parker of Laurel and Jackie Jones of Edinberg, Texas; one sister, Eva Parker of Dallas, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Kelly, Jamie Kelly, James Robert Walker, Ricky Hodge, Jonathan Hodge, Tommy Parker and Donald Holifield.

The body will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
