Sally Freeman Furr
(September 18, 1915 - June 22, 2012)

SICILY ISLAND, LA-Graveside services for Mrs. Sally Freeman Furr, 96, of Wisner, LA and formerly of Vidalia, who died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Wisner, LA, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at Old Pine Hill Cemetery near Sicily Island, LA with Rev. Kenneth Swearingen officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Furr was born September 18, 1915 in Franklin County, MS, the daughter of Gabriel Freeman and Emily Campbell Freeman. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Evangelical Methodist Church in Natchez and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Clyde Furr.

She is survived by a step daughter, Jane Olson of Nashville, TN; two nieces, Laverne Harris of Bossier City, LA and Mary Virginia Smith of Wisner, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Bird, Evan Bird, Curtis Nelson, Hardy Hopkins, Stan Wallace, and Jeffrey Hopkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Bird, Buck Smith, Ernie Smith, Joe Wallace, and Kenneth Partridge.
