MR. SAM HARRIS DIES AT HOME FRIDAY MORNING

Funeral Services Held for the Deceased at Pine Level Saturday Afternoon.

Mr. Sam H. Harris, 78 years of age, one of Taylor County's oldest and best known citizens, died at his home in Norwich community near Mauk about 9:30 Friday morning.

Mr. Harris had been in ill health for the past several years. He was a life long citizen of this county and was a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Harris was twice married his first wife being the former Miss Ida Lumpkin. After her death which occurred a number of years ago he was married to Miss Berta Taunton of this county, who survives him.

Funeral services were held at Pine Level near Mauk Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. J. L. Whitley, a devoted friend of many years, conducted the funeral. Interment was in Pine Level cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Harris besides his wife are two daughters Mrs. Jewel McGinty of Macon, and Mrs. Evelyn Brown of Birmingham, Ala.; and one son, Mr. O. B. Harris of Seattle, Wash. Also a number of nieces and nephews.
