Died [Friday] at 11:30 a.m. in Beacham Memorial Hospital, Magnolia, Miss., after a brief illness. He was 78, a resident of Route 3, McComb, Miss., a native of Amite County, Miss. and a retired farmer.
Religious services at Catchings Funeral Home chapel in McComb at 2 p.m. Saturday conducted by the Revs. Lee Dolloff and Hugh Felder. Burial in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Icy W. Knight; two daughters, Mrs. Julia K. Plant and Mrs. Louis K. Shrader, both of Baton Rouge; three sons, Sam V. Knight Jr., Baton Rouge, Charles E. Knight, Houston, Tex., and Wayne E. Knight, Fernwood, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Seals, Mrs. Lula Graves and Mrs. Rhoda Westbrook, all of Summit, Miss.; a brother, Farley Knight, Liberty, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Andrew C. Shrader Jr., Ronald Knight, Charlie Lee Weaver Jr., Earl Wayne Knight Jr., Wilson Knight and Chelsae Knight.
