Foster-Parent Of Monroyan Dies; Rites Set

Mrs. Deliah Samantha Summers, 87, a life-long resident of Baskin, died Saturday in a Winnsboro clinic following an illness of about four days. She was the foster mother of Mrs. Nell Cupit of Monroe.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church of Christ of Winnsboro. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery near Baskin under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Other survivors include three daughters, Miss Melindia Summers, Mrs. A. T. Martin and Mrs. Grace Lee, all of Baskin; one son, Wooten Summers, Baskin; one brother, Joe Evans, Winnsboro; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The remains will lie in state at the chapel of the funeral home until 1 p.m.
