SAMPSON S. BUTLER

BAY SPRINGS -- Sampson S. Butler, 78, Route One, Raleigh, died Thursday morning at his residence. A retired farmer, he was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and was a mason.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Sardis Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Perry and the Revs. Billy Ray Smith and John Carter will officiate. Masonic graveside services will be conducted at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. S. S. Butler, Raleigh; one son, J. C. Butler, Central City, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lula Bell Rogers, Raleigh; Mrs. Frances Smith, Jackson.

Masons will serve as pallbearers.

Harrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
