Samuel C. Ferguson

FERRIDAY -- Services for Samuel Cicero Ferguson will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Comer with the Rev. Norman Asbell officiating. Burial will be in Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville.

Ferguson, 88, of Ferriday died Monday in Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

He was a longtime resident of Concordia Parish and a member [of] Primitive Baptist Church. He retired from farming in 1969.

Survivors include his wife, Willie D. Ferguson of Ferriday; two sons, S.C. Ferguson Jr. of Oak Grove and Charles David Ferguson of Clayton; two daughters, Blondell Whitehead of Conroe, Texas, and Melba Sport of Newnan, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Richard Turner of Fort Necessity and Mrs. Harvey Lively of Bastrop; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sam Ferguson, Mike Ferguson, Bob Clayton Jr., Todd Ferguson, Cleryl White Jr. and Bobby Whitehead.

Friends may call until time of services today in the funeral home.
