Samuel C. Brian, Sr., Pharmacist, Dies; Rites Wednesday
Saumel Clyde Brian, Sr., 56, son of the late Dr. and Mrs. S. M. Brian of
Winnfield, died at his residence on Maple Street at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, July
15, 1969.
A pharmacist in Winnfield for many years, the deceased was a native of St.
Maurice and a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Brian received his formal education from Louisiana State University,
Tulane, and graduated from the University of Texas in Pharmacy.
Funeral service were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hixson Brothers Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Interment was in Winnfield
Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elinor Scott Brian, a son, Samuel Clyde
Brian, Jr., both of Winnfield, one daughter, Mrs. Elinor Krull of Mansfield,
one brother, Solomon Morgan Brian, Jr., of New Orleans, a sister Miss Eula
Brian of Baton Rouge, and one grandchild, Leo Ray Krull of Mansfield.
Pallbearers were J. D. Rudd, James Mallard, Hardy Smith, Jr., Harwell Allen,
George Brewton, Frank Shaw, Leon Hanson, and Volmer Bowen.
