S. E. Kersh

Funeral services for Samuel Edward Kersh, 50, of 736 Roseneath street, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday from the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral home, with Rev. T. E. Hightower, pastor of Grace Memorial Church, officiating. I[n]terment will follow in Cedar Lawn cemetery with Masonic rites at the graveside.

Mr. Kersh died Thursday morning at his residence. Although in failing health, his death was unexpected. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the V. F. W., the American Legion, and was a member of Pearl Lodge number 23 F. & A. M. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lavada Simmons of Ellisville; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Catt, and Mrs. Delbert E. (Peggy) Fincher both of Jackson; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Kersh of Jackson; one brother, Jesse Earl Kersh, of Albany, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. Parker (Jewel) Pellington of Columbia, S. C. and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bob Thomas, Fred Thomas, Jim Baker, Clyde Brooks, Jr., Carroll Bailey and Maurice Brock.
