SAM H. MEREDITH, LOCAL BARBER, DIES; SERVICE IS TODAY
Funeral services for Sam H. Meredith, 43, of Dixie Gardens, will be held today at 3 p.m. from the Baptist church at Columbia. Burial will be in the Columbia cemetery.
Mr. Meredith, a well-known local barber, died Friday at a sanitarium here after a long illness. His body will remain at the Wellman funeral chapel until 11 a.m. today.
For many years, Mr. Meredith has been actively engaged in the barbering business in Shreveport. He formerly operated the Dixie Barber shop on Marshall street and was also for a number of years with the Imperial barber shop.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertie Meredith; one brother, Ansley Meredith, of Columbia; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pietch, Chicot, Ark., and Mrs. Francis Adams, of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be G. R. Skidmore, J. H. Moore, W. C. Graff, F. M. Farmer, J. R. Gamble and L. A. Foster.
