Prominent Roscoe Farmer Succumbs
SWEETWATER, Jan. 5 (RNS) -- Samuel Harvey Nelson, 76, resident of Nolan County since 1919 and prominent farmer of the Roscoe community died at his home there this morning at 4:30.
He was born Dec. 5, 1872, in Hunt County, Texas. He came to Nolan County from Dallas County in 1919.
Survivors include the widow; five sons, Henry of Odessa, Herman of Coahoma, Earl of San Gabriel, Calif., and Phearl of Sweetwater, S. H., Jr. of Sweetwater; three stepsons, Alvin, David and Wilson Smith, all of Roscoe; four daughters, Mrs. Alma Kreidel of Sweetwater, Mrs. Pauline Heine of Roscoe, Mrs. Helen Monroe [sic Munroe] of Roscoe, Mrs. Florita Bryant of Wickett; two brothers, Silas Nelson of Fort Worth, J. L. of White Deer; three sisters, Mrs. J. H. Hudson, Mrs. Kelly Bennett, Mrs. Mary McVein, all of Fort Worth.
Funeral service is to be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Roscoe Church of Christ. Burial is to be in the Roscoe Cemetery under direction of Wells Funeral Home.
