BERGERON, SAMUEL JOSEPH

Samuel Joseph Bergeron died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Born in 1922, he was 85 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge.

Survived by his son, Samuel J. Bergeron II of St. Francisville; granddaughter, Janelle Dearmon of Denham Springs; three great-grandchildren; brother, Corrie J. Bergeron of Denton, Texas; sister, Nedra A. Nesbit of Claremont, Calif.; and good friend, Lina Maggio of Baton Rouge.

Mr. Bergeron was preceded in death by his parents, St. Clair J. Bergeron Sr. and Matilda Duplantis Bergeron; wife, the former Nell Cox; and brother, St. Clair J. Bergeron II.

Mr. Bergeron was a graduate of Catholic High School and LSU. He was employed at ExxonMobil for 34 years before his retirement. He was active in his parish church and enjoyed participating in the Senior Olympics at the state level, winning many medals until his 80th year.

Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., is in charge of arrangements. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park.
