SAMUEL H. PATTON

COLUMBIA (Special) -- Samuel H. Patton, 76, Columbia, died yesterday after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmie Bolton officiating. Burial followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home.

Patton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura B. Patton; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Lively, Pasadena, Tex.; a son, Vassar Patton, Columbia; a brother, Charlie Patton, Clarks; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Brevelle, Oakdale, Mrs. Mandy Harper, Tallulah, Mrs. Molly Duett and Mrs. Polly Hendrich, both of Flagstaff, Arizona; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Otto Kees, Ray McCartney, Joe McCartney, E. D. Coates, Hardy Fisher and C. C. Dunn.
