*The 1860 census for Jasper Co., MS lists S. A. McCarty as a male, age 6 months, in the household of Bryant MCCARTY. This was possibly a brother of Sarah who died before 1870 or it was a listing for Sarah, who was incorrectly listed as being male. If the latter situation is true, then her birthdate was more likely 22 NOV 1859.
**This identification of Elizabeth Jane LUCAS' father is somewhat speculative.
