Mrs. Sarah Magee funeral services held Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Magee, 75, were conducted Saturday at 1 a.m. from New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Truly Reynolds, pastor, in charge of the funeral arrangements. She died at a local hospital Thursday.

Born August 22, 1883, she was a daughter of Thomas Whittington and Emma Elena Jones. She married the late L. F. Magee, lived here 52 years. A member of New Zion Baptist church, she had been in failing health and confined to her bed for the past two years. She was well known in the New Zion community.

Pallbearers included: Lampton Davis, Wilton Magee, Otis Thomas, Cobert Blackwell, Ben Brumfield and Noel Prisk.

She is survived by one son, Troy Magee of Tylertown; one borther [sic brother], Tom Whittington of Warchester [sic Worcester], Mass., three sisters, Mrs. Florence May of Bogalusa, La., Mrs. Bernice Prestege [sic Prestridge] of Bogue Chitto and Mrs. May Gammil [sic Maye Gammill] of Tylertown.

She is survived by two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Interment was in Magee's cemetery with Hartman's of Tylertown in charge of funeral arrangements.
