Mrs. W. J. Purvis Rites Set Saturday

Final rites for Mrs. William J. Purvis, 77, a resident of 323 Vardaman street, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Glendale Methodist Church, Jackson.

Mrs. Purvis died at the Baptist hospital at 1:30 p.m. Friday, following an extended illness.

A native of Jasper county and formerly of Star and Smith county, Mrs. Purvis had lived in Jackson for the past 16 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Miss Madge Purvis and Miss Maude Purvis, both of Jackson, and two sons, Moody R. Purvis, Morton, and Clyde E. Purvis, US MC, stationed on Guam.

Officiating at the funeral services will be the Rev. R. E. Case of the Glendale Methodist church, assisted by Rev. R. Y. Gerrard, Morton Baptist church, and Rev. Sidney Johnston, Davis Memorial Baptist church.

The body will lie in state at the family residence until the funeral hour.

Interment will be in the Lakewood Memorial cemetery, with Baldwin Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Sam Evans, L. G. Puckett, Joe Pat Puckett, Jessie Puckett, Tally Mize and R. L. Williams.
