SARAH L. HOLT PASSES AWAY OCTOBER 24th

At the family residence, Sarah Louise Holt passed away October 24, 1937 after a lingering illness of many weeks.

Mrs. Holt was a woman whom all her neighbors loved, a Christian in whom her acquaintance had confidence, a wife whom her husband loved and cherished, a mother whose love towards her children was self [blank] offer our heartfelt sympathy, for we know that her place can never be filled.

Sarah Louise Twomey was born at Woods, Texas, January 12, 1885. Died October 24, 1937. She was married to John M. Holt March 24, 1907. To this marriage was born seven children, one child, Henry Louis, preceeded his mother in death. Mrs. Holt is survived by her husband, John M. Holt, of Washington, D. C., and six children: James J. Holt, Washington, D. C., A. Donald Holt, Valdese, N. C., Mrs. R. E. Quirk, Washington, D. C., W. Harold Holt, Woods, Texas, and Misses Vera Mae and Nellie Berenice of Carthage, Texas, an aged mother, Mrs. Mary Twomey, Woods, Texas; one sister, Mrs. R. C. Jay, Elysian Fields, Texas; four brothers: Jim, Robert, Horace, and Bill Twomey of Tenaha, Texas; one granddaughter, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 25 at the Woods Methodist church by Reverend Browner of Tenaha, assisted by Hawthorn Funeral Directors. Active Pallbearers were her nephews: Travis and Bramlette Jay, Nathe Johnson, Lee Bryant, Quentin Boyd, and D. B. Rowe.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the services were: Mrs. Lucy Holt and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Lawless of DeBerry, Texas; Miss Nell Jay and V. A. McNiell of Tyler, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Haston Twomey of Wyoming, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Thomas, Mesdames Pete Minter, V. G. Garrett, Jodie Soape, and Kilby Ross; Misses Elsie O'Kelley, Jean Moore, and Marie Harris of Carthage.
