Sharon Nell Hodges

Ridgecrest, Calif. --

Sharon Nell Hodges lost her battle to cancer on Feb. 1, 2011, at her home in Trona, with family by her side.

Sharon was born June 26, 1947, in Shreveport, La., to Calvin and Johnnie Nell Hodges. She was the eldest of two daughters. The family moved to Trona in September 1960, where she attended Trona High School.

Sharon is preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca M. Terriquez; son, Jesse F. Prosser; father and mother, Calvin and Johnnie Hodges.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley and husband Bobby Hodge of Trona; Denise Rizo of San Jose; son-in-law, Luis Terriquez of Littleton, N.H.; sister, Margaret and husband, Pete of Bullhead City, Ariz.; her one and only niece, Johnnie Villegas of Trona; grandchildren, Michael and wife, Teresa Reynoso; Robert Hodge, Heidi Hodge; Greg and wife, Selina Riso; Anthony and wife, Sara Rizo; Marina Rizo; Angelina and husband, Eben Gannett; Ashley Terriquez; and Johanna Terriquez; two great-granddaughters; uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. at Trona Valley Christian Assembly, 82619 3rd St., in Argus (Trona). A potluck will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Trona Community Senior Center, 13187 Market St.
