A retired salesman for the Coca-Cola Co. with 37 years of service, he died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at University Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He was 77, a lifelong resident of Centreville, Miss., and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Visiting at Centreville United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Thornhill. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery, Centreville.
Survived by his wife, Elizabeth C. Taylor, Centreville; two sons, Shelly L. Taylor III and wife Julie, and Stephen L. Taylor, all of Denham Springs; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Blake, Allison and Hannah Taylor, all of Denham Springs.
Preceded in death by his parents, Shelly Lee Taylor Sr. and Eddive H. Taylor; and a sister, Betty June Mougeot.
He was a member of Centreville UMC and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid Ole Miss baseball fan.
