SHELTON PITTS
Shelton Pitts, 67, of Laurel, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at Memory Chapel with burial in Myrick Cemetery in Jones County. Rev. Charles Hanchey will officiate.
He was retired from Laurel Machine and Foundry and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Shriner and loved being outdoors -- fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lovett Pitts; son, Shelton Ray (Carla) Pitts; daughters, Gaye Hamm, Rhonda (Greg) Smith, and Cristi Daughtrey, all of Laurel, and Debbie (Greg) Scott of Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren, Lindsi Pitts Grantham and husband Justin, Laken Pitts, Lexi Pitts, Koley Hamm, Brittney Smith Welborn and husband Micah, Katie Smith, Shelby Smith, Courtney Daughtrey Cooley and husband Eric, Kayla Daughtrey, Erica Scott and Ashley Scott; great grandchildren, Nicholas Smith and Erica Cooley.
Pallbearers will be Tony Cooley, Bobby Faerber, Robert Hare, Greg Scott, Greg Smith and J. D. Temple. Honorary pallbearer will be W. D. Shoemake.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Chapel of Laurel which is in charge of the arrangements.
