Shirley Ann (Taylor) Marchand
September 4, 1940 - March 2, 2012

A native of Natchez, MS and resident of Gonzales, LA, she passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake. A loving homemaker, she was 71 years old, enjoyed dancing, bowling, and cosmetology, and was a member of the Church Service Missionary of the Bishop's Storehouse.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Godbold and husband Craig, of Natchez, MS, and Kellie Langlois of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter-in-law, Laureida Dooley; sister, Carolyn Taylor, of Navarre, FL; six grandchildren, Jamie Rymer and wife Claire, Cristin Rymer, Myra Champlin, Douglas Alan Dooley Jr., Trey Albin, and Tony Godbold; and one great grandchild, Vera Claire Rymer.

Preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Marchand; son, Douglas Alan Dooley Sr.; three brothers, John Henry Taylor Jr., James Freeman, and Marvin Taylor; granddaughter, Victoria Leigh Rymer; and her parents, John Henry Taylor Sr. and Essie Naomi Freeman Taylor.

Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA, on Monday, March 5 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at Laird Funeral Home, 408 N. Union St., Natchez, MS 39120, (601) 442-3636, on Tuesday, March 6 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Religious services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 162 Lower Woodville Rd., Natchez, MS 39120, on Wednesday, March 7 at 10 a.m., conducted by Bishop Deric Masten. Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Freeman, Patrick Harrigill, Randy Freeman, Tommy Freeman, Bryan Causey, Timothy Freeman, Alan Brumbelow, and Captain William O. Watson Jr.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the staff at Our Lady of the Lake, and the nurses in the TNCC unit.
