Shirley Catherine Hymes, 74
of Morgan's Point, Texas

Shirley Catherine Hymes, age 74, died in her home, on May 9, 2012.

She was born on September 21, 1937 in Eudora Arkansas to Ola-Mae Johnson and William Curtis Freeman. She was married to Ralph Barron Hymes. Shirley arrived in Texas courtesy of hurricane Katrina and promptly started volunteering to help others at Scott and White, United Way and Morgan's Point Library. Shirley leaves many friends from all walks of life. Her biggest legacy is laughter, good cheer and an illustration of how our time here can be joyous.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother and her sisters Dorothy and Pauline.

Survivors include her husband Ralph, 2 daughters, Stacey Lee and husband David Rosener, Jill Marie and husband Ronald White, and 3 grandchildren Tiffany Alisse, Grace Catherine and Jenna Marie White, 4 sisters, Barbara Dolphin, Sandra Hanko, Patricia Hayes and Carol Brody and brother Michael Veirling.

Private Family services will be held at a future date.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple Texas is entrusted with arrangements.
