Shirley Jean McQueen Jeter
June 30, 1932 - February 28, 2011

Services for Shirley Jean McQueen Jeter will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church, with Reverend Tracy MacKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Church.

Mrs. Jeter, 78, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 28, 2011, in her residence, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Jeter was a member of Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Jeter; parents, Everett R. McQueen and Opal Tarver McQueen of Alexandria; brother, Donald Ray McQueen of Tioga.

Those left to cherish her memory include son, Gregory Lynn Jeter & wife Lila of Alexandria; son, Douglas Alan Jeter of Alexandria; daughter, Mona Jeter Leopard & husband Dirk, of Alexandria; five grandchildren whom she dearly adored; Melissa Walker & husband Greg, along with a yet to be born great grandchild of Lecompte; Lindsay Robertson & husband Clint of Pineville; Abby Jeter & fiancé Nicholas Ohrt of Alexandria; Courtney Leopard, and Jordan Leopard, both of Alexandria; sister, Carolyn Ann McQueen Farr of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Pallbearers honored to serve include; Jordan Leopard, Brad Farr, Ronnie Bradshaw, Greg Walker III, Clint Robertson and Nicholas Ohrt.
