Mrs. Sibyl Sikes Matthews

SAREPTA, LA - Services for Mrs. Sibyl Sikes Matthews, 70, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 1992 at the Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member with Rev. Kem Reeder, Rev. Danny Sikes and Rev. Victor Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary Springhill.

Mrs. Matthews, a native of Fort Necessity, La. and a resident of Sarepta for 47 years, passed away Thursday, February 13, 1992 in Ruston, La. after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a former store owner.

She was preceded in death by a son, Sherman Elbert Matthews on October 24, 1972.

She is survived by her husband, Elbert Matthews; one son, Dale Matthews; two brothers, Clayton J. Sikes and T. M. Sikes all of Sarepta; two sisters, Lula Violet Moncus of Taylor, Ark. and Lois Price of Shreveport.

Pallbearers will be Gary Sikes, David Hymer, Roger Lewis, Robert Price, Paul Price and Darrell Fitzgerald.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
