Sidney A. Mecom

MECOM, SIDNEY A. He was a retired East Baton Rouge Parish teacher, having taught at Catholic and Redemptorist high schools, and a construction management instructor at LSU. He died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Sunrise Assisted Living. He was 65, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Jackson. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Visiting at St. George Catholic Church from 11 a.m. until religious service at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in church cemetery.

Survived by two daughters, Alice Jarvis and Dorothy Mecom; a son, John Mecom; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and V.L. ``Bubba'' Pitre; and grandsons, Luke and Michael Jarvis.

Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. W.E. Mecom.
