PRATT FUNERAL HELD ON FRIDAY

Rites For Revenue Department Official Are Conducted Here

The funeral of Sidney Pratt, 34, associated with the state department of revenue, who died in a local hospital early Thursday morning, was held at the Davis-Lawhead Funeral chapel, Friday at 1:30 p.m. The body was taken overland to Bernice where there was a short funeral service and where interment took place. Rev. Ernest Duncan Holloway, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated.

Active pallbearers were Vann Pratt, Will F. Grafton, Lee Agerton, George Lindsey, John Toler, Guy Ludwig, LeRoy Hollman, and Leslie Burton.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. A. D. Tisdale, Dr. E. H. Byrd, Rufus Fontenot, Hugh Davis, John Ward, Joe Loftin, H. K. Touchstone, Johnny Young, Chester Gossett, J. K. Warner, V. R. Kennedy and all friends of the family.

Mr. Pratt leaves his wife and a daughter, Sydna, six weeks old; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Pratt of Bernice.

He had been associated with the United States treasury department for six years but some months ago gave this work up to join the staff of the state department of revenue.
