Williamson, Sidney John
He died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, after a lengthy illness, at his residence with his wife of 54 years, Ramona Whittington Williamson, by his side.
He was a retired civil deputy with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and a World War II veteran of the Normandy Invasion. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart medals for valor and wounds received in action.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim J. and Terri Williamson, Walker, and Dale and Valerie Williamson, Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Anne and Dr. Jody Cremer; grandchildren, Seth, Tim Jr., Sarah, Elizabeth, Susie, Mary, Jennifer, Peyton and Sydney; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Sanchez A. and Winnifred Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Eugie Batts and Gloria Lee; and parents, Sidney John Williamson and Irene Sanchez Williamson.
Pallbearers will be Tim Williamson, Dale Williamson, Seth Williamson, T.J. Williamson, Robert Whittington and Ryan Whittington.
Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 6. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. Monday, March 7, until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Chuong Van Cao of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
