Sidney Montgomery

Services for Sidney Montgomery will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with the Revs. Leroy Bowley, Ray Powell and Lazelle Powell officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Cemetery.

Montgomery, 77, of Lake Murvaul, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, in Lake Murvaul.

He was a native of Pollock and graduated from Pollock High School with the class of 1940. He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Red Ball Motor Freight in 1983 with 30 years of service.

He attended the Springs of Living Waters Church and was a member of the Teamsters Local #568.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel Durwood and Myrtle Roberts Montgomery and one brother, Gilbert Wayne Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Montgomery of Lake Murvaul, Texas; one son, Ron Montgomery of Benton; two daughters, Bonita Bandaries of Shreveport and Lynda Adcock of Greenwood; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandson, Red Ball Motor Freight drivers and his great-grandsons.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
