Rev. Sidney W. Batson

Rev. Sidney Willis Batson, 70, of Grayson, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 1990, at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

He was a minister at Jordan Hill Pentecostal Church, Bluff Springs, Pentecostal Church, as evangelist and ministered of KCTO radio in Columbia for seven years.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Grayson Pentecostal Church with the Revs. A.B. Masters Jr., Dewey Bass and Gove Walker, officiating.

Burial followed in Crossroads Cemetery west of Grayson under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtis Batson of Grayson; two sons, David Batson of Olla and Billy Joe Batson of Fort Necessity; one step-son, John T. Hodges of Atlanta; one daughter, Nina Rehbeger of Azle, Texas; five sisters, Mary Ray of West Monroe, Oneita Gunn and Gladys Bailey, both of Monroe, Edna Mills of Columbia and Georgia Johnson of Pasadena, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
