Simeon Vaughn

DEWEYVILLE -- Services for Simeon Vaughn, 98, of Deweyville, former Laneville resident will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Symrna Baptist Church with the Rev. M.O. Hodges officiating.

Burial will be in Gallaway Cemetery.

Mr. Vaughn died Saturday in an Orange hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 20, 1888 in Rusk County where he lived most of his life. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Symrna Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Harding of West Columbia and Georgia Scott of Deweyville; two sons, the Rev. Gilford H. Vaughn of Palestine and Calvin C. Vaughn of Inez; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
